Panis angelicus

„Panis angelicus” (Pâinea îngerilor) este penultima strofă a imnului „Sacris solemniis”, scris de sfântul Toma din Aqvino pentru Solemnitatea „Corpus Domini” (Trupul și Sângele Domnului). Împreună cu alte rugăciuni, imnul face parte și din Liturgia Orelor propusă pentru solemnitatea amintită.

În anul 1872, compozitorul și organistul César Franck a adaptat renumita „Panis angelicus” pentru voce, harpă, violoncel și orgă, și a introdus-o în Messe à trois voix Opus 12.
